Bridge between industry and research
Active research partner

TOPAG is not only strong in industrial implementation, but is also an active research partner. Since 2008, Topag has been continuously involved in publicly funded projects with universities, research institutes and national and international industrial partners, in which we develop innovative optical systems for laser processing – from the idea to the prototype.

Selection of completed projects
Optics system for ultra-fast laser processing

Project partners: Light Conversion, Aschaffenburg University of Applied Sciences, Femtika

The aim of this Eurostar project was to develop an optical machining system including process head, laser beam source and CAD/CAM software that supports and optimizes all aspects of the laser turning process. It enables ultra-precision machining of rotationally symmetrical components, which is of interest to the precision engineering and medical technology sectors, among others.

TOPAG: Development of the process head, incl. inspection camera, lighting, zoom telescope and lens for focusing

Innovative beam shaping - for the batteries of tomorrow

Project partners: EdgeWave, KIT, Fraunhofer IWS, Sill Optics, Novanta

The aim of the overall Next-Gen-3DBat project was to research advanced concepts for high-energy and high-performance battery systems. The 3D structuring of active and inactive battery components was intended to increase the energy and power density and service life of Li-ion batteries while simultaneously reducing production costs.

TOPAG: Research and development of beam-shaping elements for the large-area structuring of battery components with ultrashort pulse lasers.
